Team Ministry

As you may know since the sudden death of Fr Keith Round of S. Werburgh's, High Lane, the Diocese has been considering the best way forward of ministry provision in this area.  It is being suggested that when Fr Brian Williams of Holy Trinity Sneyd, retires later this year our three parishes are joined together to form a Team Ministry.  In this Team Fr Andrew is proposed to be the Team Rector with general oversight of the whole parish and a Team Vicar will be appointed to look particularly at Holy Trinity and S. Werburgh's.  At the moment this is still at the consultation stage and we'll bring you further developments as they happen.

Although the Team Ministry situation is under consultation were will be advertising the post of Team Vicar shortly.

Fundraising

Access to S. Saviour's isn't very easy for those who can't walk far, we have no car park and the church is situated halfway up a steep road.  This means that a number of older people find it difficult to come to church regularly.  Many of them would come if they had a little help; therefore we are starting think about fundraising for a mini-bus that could go around the community and pick up and drop off those who would like to come to church but are unable to do so.  It would also be a useful tool in the church's mission more widely and as a community asset.  If you would like to support this project please do get in touch.

Parish BBQ

On Sunday 1st July the Bishop of Stafford was our guest preacher; it was great to have a good congregation to welcome him.  The BBQ after the service went very well - although Fr Andrew did overdo some of the burgers!  The Community Choir sang and Bishop Geoff and Ann we very impressed.  Thank you to everyone who made it such a great day.  Here are a few photos and we hope to be able to do this again next summer!
